My very first Ibiza elopement styled shoot

How to end successful season in style
For those of you venturing out on your own, building your new business – whether it’s just a passion project or something more – you’ll know it takes some risk to get closer to your dream. This is a good thing though – especially if it feels exciting, adventurous and even a little bit out of your comfort zone.
This is exactly how I felt when I had the idea to head to Ibiza to arrange my first styled shoot. You might be asking ‘why Ibiza?’. Well, let me tell you. It’s not just because it’s the most rad place for someone to elope or have a wedding, but I’m also lucky enough to know people who know people! That includes my partner in crime, my crazy ‘let’s see what the future holds’ sister-in-law Ivana. She was crazy enough to settle on the White Isle with her boyfriend, Silviu. I could not ask for a hotter couple for my first shoot.
Also as a passionate wedding and elopement photographer, I would absolutely love to dive in destination weddings and elopements as they hold that wonderful vibe of an adventure we all love. If you are not sure about eloping, here are Top 10 reasons to elope in the UK.
Let’s do this!
I need plane tickets, insurance, car hire and a wedding dress. The guy looks great as he is, so a pair of suspenders did the trick!
When it came down to the dress, I couldn’t make up my mind and as I didn’t have much of a budget to work with, I ordered one from China. I’ll be honest, curiosity got to me here – what will I actually get? Will I even get it at all? Well, yes it eventually arrived (pictures attached) and I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

After this, I tried my luck on eBay where I won a kick-ass French Connection wedding dress for just £40. I was pretty happy with my achievement but still not 100% satisfied. So, I had a little mooch on Etsy for a blue skirt. Within two weeks, I had a made-to-measure long, blue tulle skirt from Stylish Bride. And I loved it!

So, I ended up with 3 dresses and the challenge of fitting it all into my EasyJet hand luggage with 3 lenses and clothes! I just about managed it but the lady at the Birmingham airport was not happy with the weight of it. I ended up wearing some extra layers (not the wedding dress though!) and smiling stupidly as I passed people through the airport.
After arriving in Ibiza, the heat hit me hard in my pink coat and all my layers. My wonderful couple was already waiting for me. And guess what? They whisked me off right to their Cotton Beach Club staff party at Piccola Cuccina in Ibiza town! This is what I call great synchronicity. Some great advice is to follow your excitement without any expectations, and it will lead you right to the party 😊. Staff parties in Ibiza look quite a bit different from the UK (especially when you didn’t have any).

But, before all that madness, I decided to explore the surroundings and take some photos. I walked up the hill over the harbour and found some spectacular views. Once I was happy with the pictures, I was ready to dive right into the party and get lost on White Isle – but that’s a different story. There was a DJ, 8 courses of delicious food, wine, Hierbas and the most amazing people from all around the world.
Needless to say, the next morning was a bit challenging. But I was a responsible adult and I had a vision of taking stunning photos and exploring this magical island. That set me in the right vibe which kept me going for the next two days.
My couple was awesome. They led me to the most amazing places with stunning backdrops. We stayed around Cotton Beach Club in Cala Tarida first day and took advantage of magnificent surroundings. I brought the UK weather with me obviously as there hasn’t been raining for months and the day I came the rain and storms have followed us everywhere. Even the local ladies shouted that this is the worst day to have a wedding 😊. I must admit I loved a bit of weather drama plus the changing light was playing into my hands.

The next day we headed to the spectacular Es Vedra. Rumour has it that the monolithic limestone rock formation of Es Vedra, off Cala D’hort on the south coast of Ibiza, is the third most magnetic point in the world and has long been referred to as the source of Ibiza’s inexplicable energy. I could not have asked for more. All combinations of dresses perfectly fitted into the beautiful landscape with the turquoise sea. The flower bouquet we used was a real wedding one the bride from the Cotton Beach Club wedding left behind. How cool is that?

Every photo we took together is so special to me. It’s a reminder to always be brave, to go for what feels scary and exciting at the same time. I just know this is the right way to go, always pushing my limits. I’m ready to be your destination wedding elopement photographer in Ibiza! That’s what I call living!
I hope we will all meet in IBIZA one day 😊
