Two sisters photoshoot

Outdoor two sisters portrait session in Sutton Coldfield Park: Hannah & Clara

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing my wonderful friend and fellow wedding photographer Hannah and her sister Clara.

That brilliant idea came along when I saw a photograph of them both on Instagram on the search for a wedding dress for Clara. Weddings are such a special time in a family’s life, and if I spot an opportunity for a great photoshoot, I always take it!

Since they were both originally from America and had lived in the UK for around a decade, this was a wonderful time to capture the sisters together before Clara planned on moving back to the US with her fiance Jon.

I love photographing families both preparing and during their big wedding day. And to make this shoot happen felt like a special opportunity to capture the love two siblings have for each other as this is something so very rarely we photograph professionally.

The perfect setting for a sisters photoshoot

Prior to the shoot, I scouted out a fantastic location in Sutton Coldfield Park, a national nature reserve just a few miles from Birmingham. I sought out some lovely spots to capture what I had in mind for the shoot.

Since the park has stunning woodlands, lakes, wildlife and unique variety of plants it was ideal for shooting some natural shots with nature as the backdrop.

Thankfully, the light was absolutely gorgeous and my dog Sunny who is my side-kick on a lot of my shoots has enjoyed herself too! We had so much fun doing this relaxed shoot and to capture the sisters naturally interacting with each other was truly special. I know from my own experience how hard it is to have your family in a different country but these two are so very lucky to have each other.

Jon, Clara’s fiance was also part of the shoot and we also took some stunning engagement photos for the happy couple. It’s always a pleasure shooting couples ahead of their wedding day. I love to make the style as authentic and natural as possible. Read my next blog to find out how the engagement shoot went!

Here is what Hannah said about the day:

“ Eva is the most personable and lovely photographer!!! She really takes the time to get to know you which in turn encourages your true self to shine in your photographs. Eva makes you feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera and she feels just like a friend taking your photo, not someone you just met! She did a sisters photoshoot for my sister and I and the photos are ones that I will cherish my entire lifetime. They are so incredibly special to me. I couldn’t thank Eva enough!!!”

Love to you all!!
