I’ve been so lucky to document Steph and Brett’s intimate civil wedding in Birmingham a few days before their big wedding at the stunning Broadfield Court. Experiencing and capturing both was incredible. I loved the contrast between the quiet, intimate moments of the civil ceremony and the day packed with fun and connection of their grand celebration.

Nestled in the Herefordshire countryside, Broadfield Court is a true hidden gem. With its elegant country house, picturesque gardens, and sprawling orchards, it offers the perfect blend of historic charm and natural beauty. It was my first time at Broadfield Court, and I fell in love with this place. I could easily include it in my top ten wedding venues as it felt incredibly peaceful with amazing owners and the whole team. The estate has this perfect mix of grandeur and coziness, setting the stage for all the warmth and love of a wedding day. Let me take you through this glorious, beautifully crisp early autumn day—such a fun one!

Wedding Preparations

It was a crisp autumn morning at Broadfield Court, and the day was already buzzing with energy. The bride and her bridesmaids were chatting and soaking in the moment in the cosy dining room. The groom and his groomsmen had their hands full with groomsman problems in the library—pool games, laughs, and whiskey tasting. But through it all, they made sure Brett looked perfect. Steph headed upstairs to slip into her stunning lace-topped dress, with her mum there for the final touches. We captured beautiful portraits before the day picked up pace. I love it when both the bride and groom get ready in the same place. It lets me document both sides of the story as it unfolds. Soon enough, the boys were pinning on their buttonholes, and we grabbed some fun group shots. And just like that, it was time to get them married.

Wedding Ceremony at Broadfield Court

The ceremony at Broadfield Court was buzzing with energy. The guests were right there with them, cheering as the bridesmaids walked in and clapping when Steph walked down the aisle with her dad. Their vows were so heartfelt, it had everyone a little teary-eyed. After they exchanged rings, they shared their first kiss, followed by a huge round of applause, then stepped outside to a wild confetti explosion.

Broadfield Court Wedding Photography Reception & Portraits

After the confetti settled, guests gathered for drinks and laughter, soaking in the stunning surroundings of Broadfield Court. The terrace and rose garden were the perfect spot for drinks and canapés, with everyone enjoying the views and the beautiful weather. We snuck away for some relaxed couple portraits, with the golden autumn light casting a magical glow as Steph and Brett shared quiet moments in the gardens. Back at the reception, the atmosphere was filled with joy. Everyone was enjoying the laid-back vibe, greeting family, and celebrating with the most amazing group of friends. It was the perfect blend of fun, love and connection, setting the tone for the rest of the day.

Wedding Breakfast and Speeches

The marquee was a dream decorated with soft pinks, greens, and peaches glowing in the sunlight, creating such a relaxed and beautiful vibe. I could already tell the speeches were going to be full of laughs and lots of happy tears. The guests from all over the world were having the best time, cheering on the newlyweds. Then came the delicious meal, and let me tell you, it was just as amazing as everything else. The whole atmosphere was buzzing with happiness, great food, and a lot of love in the air.

Evening Portraits

Before the party kicked into full swing, I took Steph and Brett for a stroll around the walled kitchen gardens for a couple of relaxed photos. We just about beat the light rain, and it was the perfect moment for them to enjoy a little peace before all the evening fun really started!

Cake Cutting, First Dance, and Party

After the cake cutting, Steph and Brett jumped straight into their first dance, and the energy on the dance floor was contagious. With a fantastic band, Opulence playing, everyone was partying, and the floor was packed with guests of all ages celebrating the night away. What an incredible day! It left me feeling incredibly grateful to have had the best job ever!
