Gloucestershire Wedding Photography | Becci and John

I was thrilled to photograph my second wedding at The Barn at Upcote. Tucked away in the peaceful Cotswold countryside, The Barn is an exclusive-use wedding spot surrounded by rolling hills. It’s a perfect setting for Becci and Jon’s special day. Despite the windy, cloudy, and rainy day, everything went smoothly, allowing us to enjoy the rustic calm with a modern twist. Wedding Preparations

Arriving at the venue was such a joy! I got to meet Becci the bride in the sweet bridal cottage where she had her makeup and hair done, surrounded by her nearest and dearest. I had plenty of time to capture all the important details and even got shots of the groom and his groomsmen arriving. One of my absolute favorite moments is when the dad sees his daughter as a bride for the first time. Those reveals are incredibly heartwarming and special. I’m glad that I had some extra time to meet John, the groom, and his groomsmen and we were able to capture a couple of snaps. I really enjoy taking pictures of these morning preparations – it’s all about those special moments before the big celebration begins!

Wedding Ceremony

Becci walked down the hill with her dad through the courtyard, and John enjoyed the beautiful view the whole way, even though it was pretty windy. The band playing acoustic music added some extra magic to the moment. The ceremony that followed was lovely and joyful, with Becci and John exchanging their vows. It was a simple and beautiful celebration.

Wedding Photography Portraits

I couldn’t wait to take Becci and John to the beautiful secret garden for their wedding portraits. The garden was amazing, filled with vibrant autumn colours and a lovely pond, creating a perfect backdrop. As we were capturing these special moments, John whispered that a surprise for Becci was on the way. Excitement building up, we moved to the front of The Upcote Barn. All the wedding guests were lined up for a big cheer. Suddenly, a helicopter appeared and hovered above us. It turned out to be a helicopter from Becci’s work, where she works as a paramedic. The moment was incredibly happy and emotional for everyone.

Wedding Breakfast and Speeches

After a wonderful time capturing wedding portraits, the amazing team worked their magic to set up a beautiful space for the wedding breakfast. The barn looked stunning, especially with the elegant rectangular table setup adorned with florals, expertly decorated by the bride. Guests were warmly welcomed to savor delicious food. Of course, they were invited to share in the joy, laughter, and, at times, tears during the heartfelt speeches.

First Dance and Party

As the evening guests arrived, we lined up for the sparklers, creating a magical atmosphere with the help of the team. I captured some delightful and fun photos. Right after, we jumped into cutting the cake with the bride and groom. Swiftly, we moved to the dance floor to revel in the joy of their first dance and kick off the party. I passed around heart-shaped sunglasses to everyone. It turned into a blast – a friendly and playful addition that kept the vibe lively all through the night.
