Hampton Manor – Luxurious Countryside Escape Just Outside Birmingham

Tucked away in the countryside just 15 minutes from my home, Hampton Manor feels like a hidden retreat with the perfect mix of historic charm and modern elegance. It’s located in Solihull, technically Warwickshire, but very much part of the wider Birmingham wedding scene. I recently photographed a wedding here and completely fell in love with the atmosphere.

What stood out to me most was how relaxed yet refined everything felt. The manor is full of character, with original stone walls and 45 acres of gardens that offer a peaceful, natural setting. There’s a sense of intimacy that makes it ideal for couples who want their day to feel both stylish and personal.

The day started in the Manor Cottage, where the bride and her bridesmaids got ready. It’s such a beautiful space — clean, stylish, and the perfect mix of contemporary and rustic, which makes it ideal for those relaxed, joy-filled morning moments. The ceremony then took place in the rustic barn, The Birches, which has such a warm and welcoming feel. It’s full of natural light and beautifully designed. Another favourite space of mine is the Tasting Room, where guests can relax during the day. It’s flooded with soft light and blends old architectural details with a clean, modern style.

While the atmosphere and setting are what draw many couples in, the wedding breakfast at Hampton Manor is genuinely worth mentioning. The presentation is beautiful and fits the overall feel of the place. It’s no surprise that food lovers are drawn to it.

With 15 individually styled bedrooms, including a four-bedroom cottage for pre-wedding stays, Hampton Manor makes it easy to turn your wedding into a full weekend experience. It’s elegant, peaceful and full of thoughtful details, which makes it a joy to photograph from beginning to end.

The Grand Hotel Birmingham– A Stunning City-Centre Venue for Elegant Birmingham Weddings

If you’re dreaming of a city wedding that feels grand, timeless, and effortlessly elegant, The Grand Hotel Birmingham is a true gem. Steeped in history and full of character, this place genuinely took my breath away the first time I photographed a wedding here — and it still does every time I return.

The Grand Hotel opened in 1897 and has welcomed royalty and celebrities. What I love as a Birmingham wedding photographer is how beautifully its history has been preserved. The restoration is stunning, with soaring ceilings and original plasterwork. Art Deco chandeliers and elegant details give it a true sense of occasion.

The heart of it all is the Louis XIV-style Grand Ballroom. It’s hands down one of the most stunning spaces I’ve ever photographed in Birmingham. The light pours in through the huge windows, and the neutral tones of the room create such a graceful backdrop for both ceremony and reception. Whether you’re planning a large celebration (it can host up to 350 guests!) or something more intimate, it feels luxurious without being overwhelming.

One of my favourite photography parts is how versatile the spaces are. The private dining rooms on the first floor are ideal for smaller gatherings. They overlook the Cathedral and gardens, and have this warm, intimate feel while still being every bit as stylish.

In short, if you’re looking for a city wedding venue with grandeur, elegance, and a true sense of place — The Grand Hotel Birmingham is a top contender. And from behind the lens, it’s just as magical to capture as it is to experience in person.

Hotel Du Vin Birmingham – Elegant City-Centre Charm for Birmingham Weddings

Right in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Hotel du Vin is one of those venues that feels surprisingly calm and intimate for such a central location. I photographed a wedding here for the loveliest couple, Jessica and Crispin, and it instantly became one of my favourites.

Set in a beautifully restored Victorian building, it’s full of original charm — grand granite pillars, exposed brick, and a sweeping staircase that add so much character. Even though it’s in the middle of the city, it has a peaceful atmosphere that works perfectly for a relaxed wedding day.

The Courtyard is the standout space. Filled with greenery and natural light, it has a romantic garden feel that suits both ceremonies and receptions. The retractable roof means it works beautifully in any season. Jessina and Crispin’s ceremony here was simple, stylish, and full of joy.

Inside, you’ll find a few different spaces depending on your style and guest list. The Belle Epoque room is bright and elegant — great for a seated dinner or a smaller ceremony. Sassicaia is more intimate, with warm wooden floors and a fireplace. It’s ideal for a rehearsal dinner or a cosy meal with close family.

Because of the central location, there are some noise restrictions in the private rooms, so no loud music. But that doesn’t stop the party. You can continue the celebrations in the White Lion Pub, a private space available exclusively until midnight. It’s a great way to end the evening — and offers brilliant photo opportunities too.

Hotel du Vin is perfect for couples who want a stylish city wedding with a relaxed feel. It blends elegance and personality beautifully, and the team is always a joy to work with.

Hogarths Hotel Solihull– A Beautiful Countryside Wedding Venue Near Birmingham

Hogarths Hotel is only ten minutes from my home in Solihull, so every time I photograph a wedding there, and I’ve done several, it feels like a familiar and welcoming place to return to. As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I’ve enjoyed working at this venue for its peaceful green surroundings and versatile spaces that suit all kinds of celebrations.

One of the standout features is the outdoor ceremony space known as The Island. Surrounded by trees and nestled within the woodland, it offers a romantic and tranquil setting for saying your vows. It feels quite private and works beautifully on a warm day. There’s also the Kissing Bridge nearby, a charming little spot where many couples choose to pause for a few portraits.

Receptions are usually held in the Garden Suite. It’s a bright, modern space with views over the lawn and easy access to the outside areas, which is great for guests to mingle in the afternoon. It suits larger celebrations but can also be styled nicely for more intimate gatherings.

Hogarths Hotel offers a blend of classic charm and modern convenience, all within close reach of Birmingham and Solihull. It’s a popular venue for good reason, with helpful staff and lovely backdrops that work beautifully for relaxed, romantic wedding photography.

The Bond – Industrial-Chic Vibes in the Heart of Birmingham

While many Birmingham wedding venues come with a grand historical charm, The Bond offers something entirely different. If you’re after a bold, industrial setting that’s full of character and creativity, this is the one to have on your radar. Located in the heart of Digbeth, The Bond is all about exposed brick, steel, glass, and canal-side views – it’s effortlessly cool and gives you a completely different kind of city wedding experience.

As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I had an absolute blast photographing Georgia and Brendan’s wedding here. They had officially tied the knot in Las Vegas and threw the party of a lifetime back in Birmingham. The Bond couldn’t have been a better match – fun, stylish, and full of energy. The Vegas theme blended seamlessly with the urban backdrop, and having the whole of Digbeth as a canvas for their portraits was such a dream. It’s a venue that really allows a couple’s personality to shine through.

Ceremonies at The Bond are often held in the Gatehouse, a modernised warehouse space with views over the private wharf. You can even make a memorable entrance by boat. For the reception, most couples choose the Canopy – a bright glass-walled space overlooking the River Rea and canal. It’s full of natural light and has an effortless flow between inside and outside, which makes the whole day feel relaxed and inviting.

The Bond is ideal for couples who want their wedding to feel like a celebration of who they are – creative, fun-loving, and maybe even a bit unconventional. It’s a brilliant option for anyone looking for a unique venue in the city, with an unmistakable sense of style.
