Shropshire Winter Wedding | Kayleigh and Dave

Photographing Kayleigh and Dave’s winter wedding at Rowton Castle was my third time at this stunning venue. Their last-minute winter wedding was bathed in glorious sunlight and filled with wonderful people. Nestled in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, Rowton Castle is a captivating place for elegant and modern weddings. Its grand stone exterior, surrounded by lush gardens, sets a beautiful scene for couples to exchange vows. Mixing old charm with new, Rowton Castle provides a charming backdrop for unforgettable wedding photos, capturing the joy of your special day. This castle represents lasting love, blending history and modernity to capture romance perfectly.”

Wedding Preparations

When I arrived at Rowton Castle, it was a frosty sunny morning, and I couldn’t help but feel incredibly happy. I met Kayleigh, the bride, at the castle’s Tower House, where she was surrounded by her beautiful bridesmaids and her mom. Kayleigh was having her makeup and hair done, and I took the opportunity to photograph all the little details that were important to her, like her stunning shoes, perfume, and jewelry. It was lovely to also meet Dave and his groomsmen and capture some fun photos of them in front of the castle’s grounds. Kayleigh got into her dress, with her mom and stepdad helping her with her dress and jewelry. It was an emotional moment as she revealed her bridal look to her bridesmaids. I felt incredibly lucky to be there to capture it all.

Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony room looked amazing, with two lovely flower trees at the front. When Colette Hazen, the violinist, began to play, her music filled the castle ceremony with the most perfect sound, creating a beautiful atmosphere. It was heartwarming to watch Kayleigh walk down the aisle, accompanied by her mom and stepdad. I cherished capturing all the emotional moments, from the vows to the ring exchange. Kayleigh became slightly emotional, adding to the significance of the ceremony.

Winter Rowton Castle Wedding Photography Portraits and Family Photos

Despite the chilly day, I embraced the Rowton Castle grounds with the newlyweds for their portraits. They were an absolute delight to work with, and capturing their love was effortless. We were lucky to have beautiful golden light shining down on us. We also took family group photos and shots of the bridal party with the majestic Rowton Castle in the background.

Wedding Breakfast and Speeches

The speeches were incredible, just as I expected! Everyone’s reactions said it all—there were tears and laughter all around. The atmosphere was so relaxed as we enjoyed a lovely meal in the beautifully decorated room, feeling like something out of a fairytale.

Cake Cutting, First Dance, and Party

The winter wedding brought the magic of sparklers as darkness fell early, and it was such a blast! With Rowton Castle as our backdrop, the sparkler photos looked stunning. Then came the exciting moment of cutting the cake, complete with the traditional sword. Next up, the bride and groom took to the dance floor for their beautiful first dance. As they swayed together, it felt like a dream. Soon, everyone joined them on the dance floor, and the party kicked off! It was a night filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
